How has adoption changed your life?
When I was 52, I found out I was adopted. I had been raised with known adopted siblings (minorities) but told I was the "natural" one. The revelation shattered my soul, fractured my relationship with my adoptive mother and caused my children to disown their grandmother. I feel that I have become very impatient and quick to anger. Frustrated by the archaic laws preventing me access and also stymied by DNA test analysis. Opened my eyes to how seedy this entire business is.
What is a lesson from your adoption experience that could be life-changing for all families?
Do Not Lie
What changes would you like to see made in adoption?
More support for pregnant women and if inevitable, more post-adoption support for parents and adoptees.
